Invite someone to a crew
Invite someone to a crew in Parks Manager from Settings. Only the crew owner sends the invite. The other person is not on the board until they sign in with the mailbox that received the link.
A crew is a shared board for trips, the scratch map, pack lists, alerts, and emergency contacts. It is not a chat, and it is not a comment thread.
- 8people including pending invites
- 14 daysinvite lifetime
- 2invite roles: member or onlooker
- Ownerwho can send an invite
Pick the role before you send
Member edits the shared board. Onlooker reads the whole board and is refused on every write, which suits a parent who wants the plan without the ability to change it.
A role applies to the whole board. There is no per-trip permission. Leaving a crew does not take shared trips with you. They belong to the board.
Send the invite
Sign in, then open Settings. If you do not have a crew yet, create one first. Parks Manager then shows Invite someone.
- Open Settings and find Invite someone.
- Enter Their email.
- Set Role for this invite to member or onlooker.
- Keep Add to this crew selected, or choose Create a new empty crew for them and name it.
- Send the invite. Parks Manager emails an accept link that lasts 14 days.
What they have to do
They open the accept link and sign in with that same email using the six-digit code. Until that step finishes they are not on the board, even if the invite row already appears under Pending invites.
If the mail cannot be sent, the pending invite is still saved. Fix delivery and invite again to resend the link, or cancel the pending row.
After they join
Members can edit trips, scratches, pack lists, and alerts on that board. Onlookers see the same plan and cannot change it. Anyone already signed in can create another crew. A crew stops at eight people, counting invites that have been sent but not accepted.
When two people edit the same trip, neither version is silently discarded. One person proposes a merge, the crew sees a field-by-field diff, and the crew merge policy decides how many approvals it takes.
What it does not do
Sharing is coarse on purpose.
- Only the owner can invite. Members see “Only the crew owner can invite people.”
- An invite dies after 14 days and the owner sends a new one.
- There are no comment threads and no activity feed.
- A role is board-wide. You cannot hide one trip from an onlooker.
