The scratch-off park map in Parks Manager covers 244 national parks in eight countries. Scratch the foil off a park to reveal its photograph and mark it visited.
The paper version on somebody’s wall is the reason this exists. This one refoils when you tap the wrong park, comes with you, and knows which parks you have not reached yet.

What is under the foil
The catalog holds 244 parks: 66 in Mexico, 63 in the United States, 49 in Canada, 25 in Italy, 16 in Germany, 16 in Spain, 8 in Croatia, and one in Slovenia. Each one has a photograph behind the foil and a place on the map.
Your map, or the one you share
Your personal map and each crew map are kept apart. A combined view shows both at once and says which board each scratched park came from, so a crew map is a record of trips you took together rather than a merge of two separate lives.
Scratching is reversible. Refoil puts a park back, which matters more than it sounds on a touchscreen map of a crowded region.
Recording when you went
Scratching a park that is not attached to any trip offers to record the visit. You can answer with a year, narrow it to a month, or give exact dates, and Parks Manager stores which of the three you gave rather than inventing a day you did not supply.
That answer becomes a completed trip, which is what lets the map say when as well as where. Nothing is filled in for you, and declining leaves the park scratched with no date attached.
Every board starts empty
A new account and a new crew begin with nothing scratched and no trips. Parks Manager never seeds a sample visit, a demonstration itinerary, or a starter park.
A scratch map you did not earn is worth nothing, and a first session spent deleting somebody else’s example trips is a worse introduction than an empty page.
Scratching with no signal
A scratch made without a connection is stored on the device and sent when one returns, alongside trip edits and field check-ins. The map keeps working in a valley; it just catches up later.
The queue drains while the app is open. Parks Manager does not run in the background, so nothing is uploaded from a closed tab.
What it does not do
The map records that you were there, not what happened.
- A park is scratched or it is not. There is no partial credit and no per-park rating.
- There are no photo uploads. The image behind the foil is the park photograph that ships with the app.
- Notes and dates live on the trip a visit created, not on the map pin.
- The catalog is national parks. State, provincial, and regional parks are not in it yet.

Can I undo a park I scratched by mistake?
Yes. Refoiling puts the park back exactly as it was, which is the usual fix after a mis-tap on a crowded part of the map.
Does a new Parks Manager board come with parks already scratched?
No. Every personal board and every new crew board starts empty. No sample visit, demonstration trip, or starter park is ever added for you.
Can two people keep a shared visited-parks map?
Yes. A crew board has its own scratch map, kept separate from each member’s personal one, and a combined view shows both while labelling which board each park came from.
